(photo taken in the countryside of Spain)

It’s sad to leave you, you weren’t what I expected
there’s a portion of me that has you reflected.
your sweeping expanse, your eyes set on the horizon
you hold me to your heart to beat away all my crying

cruising on through in a dusty woodland haze
every corner we turn there’s always something to amaze
the ochre of your fire, the emerald of the Glen,
the gold of your honey, the azul of lake Ten

waiting for my appearance, I’m ready to take the leap,
I’m ready to stop feeling so serious. for this time I will keep.
I’m not prepared for the journey, i’m not prepared to home,
home is where the soul is, and my soul wants to roam.

among your leaves I frolic, the sun kissing my hair,
holding your hand I dance, I can hear you whisper in my ear
air that is so crisp, my skin feels alive, roots extend from the trees,
everything around me is mine. everything around me is me,
from the roots of the trees to the depths of the sea.

I cannot go home, there’s something calling me here
I cannot go home, here,  I have nothing to fear
don’t let me go home, I’m not ready to fly
don’t let me go home, it’s too soon to cry
don’t let me go, don’t let me go, don’t let me go

…i’m not ready to say goodbye

  6. What is the point of ‘Love’?

    (photo taken in Madrid)

We look to our parents for love because without them we feel like we have no worth. The years go by, the grey hairs grow and the wrinkles are sowed - and we realise that our parents aren’t immortals, so we look to someone else – a best-friend, a partner, a life-long romance. These relationships always terminate earlier than expected; so we then procreate, as a way of creating a being that can be goaded into supplying endless and limitless amounts of love up until and even after our bodies have turned to dust. The cycle then goes on.

Remember the proof for existence? I think therefore I am. What if your thoughts are simply just not enough? New proof of existence: S/he thinks about me therefore I am. This chemical reaction in the brain is probably one of the most powerful of them all, kings abdicate, people kill, individuals sacrifice … . all in the name of a by-product called LOVE. Most people don’t even know what it is, they can’t explain it, they can’t illustrate or quantify it. “I feel it. That’s all that matters” you hear them say. Well, I felt my arm swelling up when I was attacked by a swarm of bees in a dream; it doesn’t mean it’s real (True Story). This continual striving for sustained devotion from one single individual is near impossible. People change, feelings melt, circumstances alter….our emotions our circumstantial. Stockholm Syndrome is a perfect example. “But how could you love a man who tortured and raped you as a child for twenty years?” well, how can you think that your transuniversal, star-fated soul-mate was sitting in the cubicle opposite you for five?  Those odds are substantially stacked against you, you are just as imbecilic as the captive in love. We love who we’re with, we’re animals, we adapt to survive. Divine intervention with matters of the heart is a fairy tale, a ruse if you like…

    BUT

“So what?” you reply. “They make me happy. They make me feel whole. They make me feel love.” Okay. Interesting turn of events. New theory: We spend our lives looking for this ‘special someone’ as a vehicle to accessing this emotion called love. We don’t love them, we love how we feel when we’re with them… . but that doesn’t explain why we continue to put up with it when it turns sour. LOVE is both pointless and pivotal. Do as you wish with it, we’re never going to come to any conclusions today.

  7. Album Art

#3 track off their album ‘Burst Apart’ from an unlikely sounding New York band.  Let’s just say, if I could put the entire album on here I would.

90-year old woman that has been selling prawns on the same high street corner every weekend since WWII.

About me

A rough, haphazardly put together, virtual impression of the going-ons in my head. Some musical, some pictorial, some arbitrary...but mostly harmless.
